6. North refuses to be consistent

Reconstructionism is cover for unfettered capitalism. For Christian Reconstructionists, humans are depraved and every institution is by extension corrupted. God's law is required as the norm to regulate human behavior and social relationships - except the market. The 'free market' is exempted from the corruption of human depravity.

In the books produced by Gary North, ICE, the Chalcedon Foundation, et.al., the application of scripture to the market and to its impact on human life is absent. Maybe it's oligarchy or anarcho-capitalism or feudalism desired by the theonomists, but the refusal to be consistent with its declared principles when it comes to economics is a peculiar feature of reconstructionism.
