3. They shouldn't be and I never blamed cops at protests for doing what they

did because they were basically doing their job and following the orders of their superiors. It's those guys we should be upset with, the politicians and industrialists who push the police department to crack down on protesters. When I belonged to a union and we went on strike, we did have some incidents between union hotheads and scabs. The cops had to arrest those involved and push the rest of us back. But at other times they would bring us sodas and news that they were getting about the negotiations. They were on our side. They just had to do their jobs.
