I'm concerned less with how audience members perceived the incident than how Brown felt. If he says she assaulted him against his will, he is the best judge of that. I don't like the idea of taking apart his actions because the same could be done toward a female rape victim, and sexual assault is no less serious if the victim is male. If on the other hand he enjoyed the experience and consented, it wasn't assault. A newspaper article describing the incident doesn't tell me how Brown himself felt. I can certainly understand Pryde's outrage. There is an ingrained assumption that men always want sex. That doesn't mean they don't have the same rights to grant or withhold consent as a woman.
