Why is this IRS "issue" an issue again? [View all]

I can understand if the IRS targeted a racial group, an age group, or a gender, and if there was harrassment involved.

But in this case they're targeting groups, for investigation only, which have explicitly expressed anti-tax sentiment - and are even named after an anti-tax protest (Tea Party). They've always assigned audits on a wide range of financial "red flags", which may or may not be the result of an individual's beliefs or investment strategy as much as a sign of wrongdoing.

It would seem more than likely the FBI investigates armed militias more than religious groups, and IMO that's ok. Nothing would ever get done if all investigations had to be doled out "equally", whatever that means.

So WTF?
