7. Maybe we could start with registering/licensing all firearms and pit bulls.

Like we do with cars.

Then legislate mandatory liability insurance for firearms and pit bulls, with $50,000 minimum coverage.

Like we do with cars.

That way, if a firearm owner's licensed firearm kills or injures someone or someone's pet, or a licensed pit bull owner's little angel kills or mangles someone or someone's pet, the victim or their families have a much better chance at being compensated for their losses to some extent.

Fine anyone who possesses an unlicensed firearm or pit bull.

Kind of like we do with cars.

The specter of monthly insurance payments might dissuade many people from owning firearms or pit bulls.

Just a thought.
