going to cut costs in the long run, rein in the massive profits of insurance companies(Why are premiums allowed to rise so much?), and negotiate drugs prices like the V.A. and most other industrialized wealthy nations. The people of America spoke and they wanted Single payer universal coverage! If our democracy was functional that is what the bill would have given us.
