...the majority of combat arms guys I served with wanted to be there - as a tanker, I wanted to be there - and don't get me started on the 03xx and 11Bs, trust me they want to be there. And if you really want to see soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines who are the acme of "wanting to be there' look no further than the SF, NSW, PJ and MARSOC communities.
The myth of "they have no choice" is just that, a myth.
