It's where an entryway gable meets the main roof.

My house is a renovated well over 100 year old one room school house in a small farming community in the midst of the national forest in western MI. It's in tough shape right now, but it's a very robust structure.

I own it out right, so all I have to do is keep it heated in winter and pay the property taxes. The former is not optional; the latter I am perpetually behind.

One does what one can, when one can. After a lifetime of working in science, technology, and mathematics, it is sad to see what has become of these disciplines. No jobs here, and I cannot afford to move even if a company would hire me other than something like a WalMart.

Here, at least I have some comfort, of a sort.
