In reply to the discussion: anyone ever faint? [View all]bbernardini
(10,023 posts)13. Once. Unfortunately, I was playing a wedding reception at the time.
Actually, it was right before the first dance set. Wearing a suit, in July. Under a tent, but I didn't hydrate well enough that day. Started feeling a bit wobbly while getting ready to play. Next thing I knew, I was lying on the grass ten feet away, with everybody staring down at me, just like in a movie. In retrospect, that part was quite amusing. Luckily, I managed to fall the right direction, or I would have ended up with a large metal piece embedded in the back of my head.
After some Gatorade and cool towels to the neck, I was back in action for the second dance set. Needless to say, I make sure I hydrate fully now. It's still a running joke with the rest of the band whenever it gets a little warm.

Yes, I just have freakishly low baseline bp, and tend to get a little squirrelly
