I know a lot of people in my county, Cambria, including many that are Democrats, that are responsible gun owners with concealed carry permits. Fortunately, I live in a borough with local police right down the street, but there are many municipalities in the middle of nowhere that are under state police protection, so if anything happened in that area, it would take a long time for police to respond.

Of course, obtaining the permit is not difficult at all. You basically fill out some paperwork.
