(57,306 posts)I skimmed it. You may be right. My issue is with the OP of this thread. I consider his repeated invocation of mental illness a truly insidious thing to do. Many people do suffer from mental illness, and using it as an insult only adds to the stigma that keeps people who need help from seeking it. No mental health professional would ever diagnose someone online. If they did they would lose their license. There are many DUers with neuro-chemical disorders. Using "mental illness" or BPD as an insult is hurtful to all of them. If he wants to insult me, he should insult ME, not a whole group of the most vulnerable population. The same goes for random bloggers. It's his pretense of being trained in psychology that makes it especially damaging. Obviously he has no clinical training, but he still pretends to know everything and has even gone so far as to say he is "never wrong." I stand by my alert. He crossed the line.
