...to which the differences penetrate the nation's political leadership. For example, democrats may indeed fear corporate control of government-- democrats like you, that is-- but democrats in congress fall all over themselves to court corporate money and influence, and in the process facilitate their accumulation of power over government. Democrats like my neighbors and colleagues might very well believe the "it benefits all of us to help the weakest and the poorest" but the ones in my state assembly and in congress prefer abandoning those folks, who have little political clout, rather than taxing the wealthy to pay for necessary services, because the wealthy have plenty of political power.

So while dems might THINK differently than repubs, in the real world they're screwing us just about as badly, and the differences are pretty thin sauce.
