Iraq is still a festering wound, that to our shame, is full of bloodshed and violence. And it is our fault. Here is what a quick google news search turned up -

Iraq bombs kill 23, including minority protesters

BAGHDAD (AP) — A suicide bomber blew himself up among a group of demonstrators complaining about lack of security in an ethnically disputed northern Iraqi city on Tuesday, in the deadliest in a spate of attacks that killed at least 23 people, authorities said.

Iraq is weathering its deadliest outburst of violence since 2008, with more than 2,000 people killed since the start of April. The bloodshed appears to be largely the work of resurgent Sunni militants such as al-Qaida, feeding off Sunni discontent with the Shiite-led government.
