The Fundamentalists believe in free will to a point. They can choose to save their own souls via being "reborn" and accepting Christ as their Savior. This negates their curse of Original Sin that they were born with.

However, they are hellbent on saving the rest of us (or enacting restrictive religious laws) because they also believe those who are unsaved will invite the wrath of God upon the Earth, sweeping them up in the damnation. A contradiction? Yep. They're saved but we can ruin it for them by following our secular, hedonistic choices.
