(15,054 posts)A trained fighter has a tremendous advantage against an untrained fighter - they should reflexively avoid being hit, maintain balance, and take advantage of momentary openings. If you're untrained opponent is a phenomenal athlete, his athleticism may overcome the disadvantages of being untrained but that would be the very rare person. Of course huge size discrepancies also matter.
I would consider any fight training that doesn't include sparring to be inadequate fight training.
I've seen lots of fights between street fighters - good ones - and trained fighters - it was never a contest - the trained fighter always kicked the shit out of the street fighter.
