In reply to the discussion: Don't you just love President Jimmy Carter? [View all]90-percent

Reagan's administration negotiated directly with the Iranian hostage takers to delay the release of their American hostages UNTIL AFTER THE 1980 ELECTION!
Nixon did the same thing with the North Vietnamese, prolonging the war instead of letting LBJ's secret negotiations end it in 1968. LBJ knew about the treason and it's on tape LBJ spoke to Everett Dirkson about it. He kept it a secret because America might go berserk knowing their recently elected President Nixon committed treason.
And add Iran-Contra to the list, too.
All of the above is prove-able and not hypothetical. Factual and all that.

With the exception of the late George McGovern, I can't think of a national figure/politician

I also had my issues with President Carter, but voted for him over Reagan

Posted on FB and someone there says that Carter didn't say this, that John Fuselgang did.

But by today's standards Carter looks a lot more liberal than he did then.

There's not a hint of antisemitism about Carter. A statement wholly without foundation.

A very decent human being, victimized by Reagan demagoguery - I was heart broken when he lost.
