They see the world in black/white, good/evil, with us/against us. Everything is 100% right or 100% wrong (and if it isn't their idea, it's 100% wrong.) "Success" is that which benefits them directly, there are no derived benefits from someone else succeeding. Which is one of the biggest problems, "Trickle Down"/"Supply Side" policy has been enormously successful for the most wealthy, therefore it is 100% successful. If your goal is concentrating wealth for yourself (and you had a shitload to start with) Reaganomics is absolutely fantastic and you will fight tooth and nail for it.

They are blind to the real world, with it's shades of all colors.
