2. Z-man thought he could go "mano-e-mano" with Martin

So he followed him and confronted him. They skirmished.

When he saw that Martin wasn't going to back down, he pulled his gun. Bad choice.

I do not want to diminish this tragedy, but I likened such fights to this scene from "Treasure of the Sierra Madre"



Barton McClain initiates a fight with Tim Holt and Humphrey Bogart. When he realizes he's losing, he concedes (1'49&quot . Fight is over. No one pulls a gun; no one is killed.

If Z-man realized his error and conceded, Martin would still be alive.
