I am not a fan of Barack Obama and I never have been. My take from the first time I heard him speak, at the '04 Democratic Convention, was that he was a master speaker whose content was, while guaranteed to inspire the masses, vague enough to be open to interpretation, and therefore not trustworthy.
Paying closer attention during the '08 primaries, he and HRC were both at the bottom of my ranked list of candidates. Of course, they were the only candidates left on my ballot when my late primary finally rolled around; they had been for about 5 months.
Why? He was clearly a neo-liberal, which I judge to be unhealthy for the party and the nation. His appointments and policies have borne out that evaluation.
Congress? There are a handful in both branches I can get behind. For the most part, though, they are as bad.
