There's a valencia orange tree outside my window and I'm definitely not in Florida. The plant was developed in (naturally) Orange County, California.
The California crop tastes better, but I'm partial to blood oranges.

Florida navel oranges are the best I've ever had, juicy and sweet. But they are not as pretty
