In reply to the discussion: Family rescued by Zimmerman cancels press conference [View all]Jenoch

These people do not wish to be at the center of the Zimmerman controversy. If they do nothing, they will not extricate themselves from the spot they find themselves in. What is your experience in these matters?
I'll give you an example. If someone wins a small, yet still significant lottery jackpot, say $12 million. The best thing to do is to participate in the lottery news conference. Tell their story, what they might do with the money, how they found out they had the winning numbers, reaction from family members, innocuous stuff like that. Then the media get enough to do a story and they move on. The public's curiosity is appeased and it's over for the most part. If they do not do the news conference, the media outlets will attempt to contact them individually to get the video, audio, and quotes. There is no malice, they just want the story. This thing in Florida is a much bigger story, but it would be helpful to the family to get this sort of advice to get the media their story and move on.
