I am well aware of victimization having suffered it myself as a child and being a professional who works with victims. To claim this situation is some form of victimization is incredibly hyperbolic and disrespectful to those who have suffered real sexual abuse.

We do not know whether his wife Huma is a victim in this. We simply don't. All of this is mere speculation, and that is what creeps me out.

These women that have come forward have not been victims in any clinical sense of the word. In fact, they appear to be just as narcissistic as Wiener is. He has not broken any criminal laws. He has not perpetrated sexual harassment with these women as is normally inferred - such as a power differential in a job situation. He has not even had intercourse with these women, so rape is obviously not something we can infer.

It definitely bothers you and others. So be it. However, please own up to the personal nature of this disgust and these judgements. Unless tangible proof of actual sexual harassment or criminally inappropriate behaviors are revealed, this mans private sexual peccadilloes, though horrible if you intend to be a public figure like Mayor, are simply that - sexual peccadilloes. Stating emphatically that he is an addict, a pervert, a sexual deviant, etc. is specious. Words have meanings. Those words have very specific meanings. Throwing them around as they are on these boards as of late does not change them simply because you and others have very strong negative feelings about him, his wife, and his sexual expressions.
