57. True, there's been plenty of good people out there.....

But, let's remember that there's always been a fair number of dunderheads, morons, dicks, and even downright despicable persons amongst younger whites as well: for example, look at how many people joined the 3rd incarnation of the KKK in the late 'Teens and 1920s, for example. You also had Southern kids and young men in the 1950s & '60s who harassed blacks & Freedom Riders, and others, on the streets of various towns. And then there were lynch mobs during the "Nadir" of race relations. And need I remind you that the majority of these people grew up in traditionalist, authoritarian, reactionary, etc. households?

And I shouldn't need to remind everybody that a fair number of white kids who fought against injustice in the '60s were often ridiculed, and even disowned, by their own families and communities.

I see where Mr. Diaz is coming from, but I think he approached this from a slightly flawed angle. Just my 2 pennies, that's all.
