The woman he saw was one of the first to be killed and he ran to get the police, who did nothing initially (they looked at him like he was a lunatic and I'm sure he was given what was going on around him).

Thank you for your service to your country. I'm sorry you suffered so much. If I could reach through this screen and hug you I would.
