(46,179 posts)I don't support Rand Paul.
I may agree with him on some issues. I am anti-war; more anti-war than he is. He's okay on civil liberties, at least on his opposition to the Patriot Act. He is terribly wrong on most other issues.
I FUCKING CARE MORE ABOUT ISSUES THAN I DO PARTIES AND PERSONALITIES.
Agreeing with someone on an individual issue is not the same as supporting their political agenda as a whole, or their political career aspirations.
I'll oppose anyone, regardless of party or position, who takes the wrong position on issues. I'll support the work individual politicians do to further economic and social justice, regardless of their party affiliations.
I don't support anyone based solely on party affiliation and/or speeches.
Why are you so upset about Rand Paul? Is he somehow more special than any other politician, or do you need to sort politicians into "us" and "them" to feel secure? Is there no flexibility, or nuance, in your political ideology?
Has there been some sort of campaign on DU to support Rand Paul?
