(13,920 posts)Is a far cry from the accusations of "pornographic" and "child porn" that have been showing up in threads on this topic.
So.. If someone dances in a style they are not suited to bodywise, does that make them disgusting?
For instance, if I as a middle age, not terribly fit male were to take up ballet, would that make me disgusting?
But moving on, the whole thing seems to rest on the outrage of a few that she would do this dance. But if a different person, same age, same costume, had done the dance, someone they found appropriately endowed and enjoyed the sight of a bit more(or maybe a bit less, a very few of the comments on the matter seem to me to be in the "doth protest too much" category) this would have gone by without comment, completely unnoticed.
Which to me indicates its something other than the dance itself causing this outrage. Is it completely media ginned up? Maybe. It would be interesting to have a parallel world where the media said nothing about the thing, to see if any of this would show up without that publicity. But I bet it sells records for everyone involved, it gets the names on lips, and i bet more people watch the VMA's next year now.
That said, its interesting that i haven't seen a single thread on DU about "same love" winning an award.
