(13,918 posts)and read the various media commentaries. I find three things noteworthy.
1) Thicke's mothers comment. "I was not expecting her to be putting her butt that close to my son," Loring said. "The problem is now I can never unsee it."
I'm guessing that she hasn't watched her Sons music video, or she would kinda have to choke on those words a bit.
2) Really, I dont think its a controversy without a carefully crafted media PR storm. But insofar as people are reacting to the imagery, I suspect the reactions really have less to do with teddy bears or a skinny white girl trying to twerk as they are to do with a kinda primal reaction to the cognitive dissonance of Disney princess Cyrus taking a very aggressive, I would even say masculine stance through many parts of the performance.
3) Macklemore won an award. An award for "same love". That's something to take note of, and to not let the ginned up, commercially packaged controversy distract us from.
