(45,319 posts)as the ones already in use in Oregon and in Washington. 'No more paper ballots' is not a benefit, that is a huge drawback and it is very unpopular with the people. We love our paper ballots, we have zero electronic voting machines, no polling places to visit or manipulate and we get our ballots for 2 weeks during which time we can vote freely. What you call 'election day' we call 'the last day of voting'.
Your plan excludes voter who have no internet access, requires them to travel to such access then use a computer they might not trust. It is unfair to rural voters, elderly, and to those who just don't care for the internet not to mention those who can not afford a computer and internet services. Why should anyone have to 'get set up' to vote? Why should disabled people have to have 'volunteers' come to 'help them'?
The idea is to make voting easier, not more complex, and more secure, not less secure. You want fundie churches to be 'assisting' voters with voting? Why on earth is that a good idea?
