19. When was the last time war turned a profit?

Maybe I'm off-key, but I don't see anyone really benefiting in the last few, except defence contractors, of course. The work-around there would be to nationalize the defence industry, but that would hardly be an improvement as that might make it less costly to wage war, and more of the relevant actors could lobby from within the government rather than from the outside.
