A government shutdown would undoubtedly hurt a lot of people, but caving into the RW's terrorism would be worse IMO. Caving would hurt a lot MORE people for a lot longer time AND would make it impossible to govern in the future.

There's no good answers here. Personally, I think a couple million people occupying D.C. 24/7 might make the point better than any letters, emails, and strongly worded LTTE would ever do. Of course that option also has it's disadvantages and dangers.

Like I said, no good options. That's what happens when you begin to careen into a pre-revolutionary phase.
