Because of netflix and prime I've watched entire series that I never would watch otherwise.
The cheapest cable package in my area? Over $50 a month and that's before taxes and fees. (And they're crappy channels-there are over the air channels that I cannot get on my cable package without going into a larger package. Over the air from the local PBS station!) Netflix? About $8 a month. Prime? $79 a year, which is about $7 a month. A decent outdoor antenna is around $100 and that's a one time fee.
With an antenna and my Roku (with Prime, Netflix and Hulu Plus) I'm way better off than with cable. For those three channels I'm running about $24-and I watch them more than I watch my Dish. When my Dish contract is up next year, I'm dropping it and going completely with the antenna and Roku channels.
