(18,881 posts)But being humans in one of the greatest countries on earth, we are lucky enough to have been given the luxury of seeing where we could improve. On the matter of survival, I could furnish an entire place for free with high quality goods by simply answering Craigslist ads and being able to get hold of a truck to pick up the stuff (and most of us could do this easily in America). I could dumpster dive in Seattle and get the best food imaginable - my daughter once brought home crates of food I couldn't afford to buy that she'd found in dumpsters (sealed and spoil-free). You just need to know where to go. Yes, we live in an amazing country. Those of us living here have already hit the lottery. But we need to be aware of those who want to drag us back into the Stone Age, and fight them whenever they pop up.
