21. I feel a moral obligation to read up on the damn school board election.

Childless, not particularly knowledgeable about public education issues, and knowing virtually nothing about any of the candidates -- but after I vote for Barbara Buono for Governor, I have to get past the Board of Education before I can leave the voting booth in good conscience.

So, for the rest of tonight, please, nobody post any hilarious cat videos. You'll be distracting me from my civic duty.

I have a date with Google....

(BTW, I know at least enough to be hostile to charter schools and teaching to the test, but my guess is that none of the candidates will openly endorse those things anyway. I'm expecting to have to plow through a lot of mom-and-apple-pie rhetoric to try to make a semi-educated guess at who deserves the seats.)
