... whether it's .55 or $1.55 each or something in-between, it would eliminate about 95% of the JUNK MAIL that nobody wants and none of us need. It would increase costs for printed magazines, but most of those are going to electronic versions anyway. The magazines that people are willing to pay extra for would continue to be printed on paper, and maybe people would actually read them.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not rooting for DeJoy and I hope he gets fired very soon. However the USPS does have some fundamental issues that need to be addressed by whomever takes his place at the top.
