One thing I have been frustrated about for a while now is the fact that it doesn't look like we are getting organized to usurp voter suppression. We can't wait until the laws are changed or repealed. We have to organize and make sure that every single Democrat that wants to vote is registered AND has the ID necessary to make their vote counts. We have to get churches and colleges involved in making sure that their parishioners or students have jumped through the hoops set out to keep them from voting. Then we have to get out the vote.
The gerrymandered districts are based on the voter info that existed when they drew the districts. Then they tipped the scale even further by putting up road blocks for as many "undesirable" voters that they could. Now wouldn't it be a thing of beauty to get a HUGE percentage, of those that they thought they could subjugate, to walk into the polling place with valid registration and ID? The lines going around the block and NO ONE leaving until they vote. That's what it will take in 2014 to make a difference.
Christie won his "landslide" with less than a 40% turnout. What would it look like if Democratic turnout was in the upper 90 percentile?
