In reply to the discussion: let's be real here about the impact of "you can keep your insurance" [View all]Raine1967
(11,676 posts)6. Could you help me out?
Some posted this question to me last night, obviously by the tone you can tell this is not a Dem -- it's a friend of my sister.
In my most non-confrontational voice, I would like to know how you feel about the Obamacare #s. As of a few minutes ago, 5,000,000 people have lost or had their current insurance canceled. 106,000 have purchased coverage through their state. 400,000 are now eligible for Medicaid due to income requirement increase through Obamacare (which is paid by county - the increase goes to homeowners who pay taxes). Not looking for a down and dirty fight. Just trying to see what you (the biggest O fan I know) has to say about this. TY
Now regarding this homeowner crap (debunked see here: http://www.factcheck.org/2012/04/realtors-the-3-8-sales-tax-and-247-medicare-premiums/ )
may I use some of these numbers as a rebuttal? I want to enter this thorny patch delicately as possible. I don't really think this person gives a shit about what I think, although I do plan to ask if she is willing to read facts and believe that what information I give her is true.
(This i going to be like teaching a fish to ride a bike I suspect.)
Thanks!

Supposedly the "real" problem is when the employer mandate begins and group plans are cancelled
