(211 posts)38. I was not getting screwed by my insurance company
I had opted out of a few things like mental health coverage, in order to reduce my premium. My insurance company tells me that plan, which was not a junk plan, can no longer be offered under the ACA because it doesn't meet minimum requirements. My premiums will go up, but only a little.
If 5 million, or 2.5 million, or whatever it is...people are going to pay more, and 40 million more people can get coverage (a good thing), is the concern of those 5/2.5 that their increase is what's subsidizing the coverage for the 40 million. It has to be helping pay in part for all of those new insured or else the ACA is not economically viable, correct?
