7. Sorry that happened to you. It's always shocking when it happens.

The same happened with my husband. He had an end stage disease and we expected him to die down the line, but I always thought there would be hospice care first and he would pass with his family surrounding his bedside.

Instead he came home from a medical treatment he received, dialysis, sat down in his easy chair to watch TV while I made dinner... and died. He couldn't be revived by the EMTs. It was an awful shock because it was sudden and unexpected. However, I finally came to the realization that for him it was a better outcome. He didn't suffer but maybe briefly. I think you should think about it in those terms.
