Maybe he'll learn from this and remember next time to bring his hearing aid. Maybe a family member or close friend will take this as a cue and start talking to him about having others drive him. Not an easy conversation to have with the elderly because it's the last semblance of their independence in some instances, but one that is necessary. I hope when I get to that point, I won't be stubborn about it.
