Was that Rmoney good when negotiations followed a script, basically when he and Bain could dictate terms. He struggled when variables were introduced.

What it means is that he can control from a power position, any good negotiator will always introduce variables, even when negotiating from weakness. At Bain he was negotiating with people who were looking out for their own payout, not what was good for their company. As a world leader he will get some heads of states with the same motives, those looking out for the motherland may eat his lunch.
