8. if there's a war on xmas you could fool me.

the grocery store has been selling xmas ornaments, etc. since before halloween. i do not celebrate xmas. haven't in years. to me it's just another day.

many years ago we went to my husband's manager's house for a xmas party. we just wanted to make an appearance and get the heck out of there. at one point the manager said to me "are you all ready for christmas"? i said "as ready as i'm gonna be". about 15 minutes later hubby made his excuses and we left. the manager's son said "don't go -- there's more good food coming out".

when we got in the car hubby and i both gave a sigh of relief.

over the years as IBM cut spending those xmas parties stopped.
