In the days before cellphones, people weren't afraid to be away from their phones. Now I tell my friend to turn her phone off so we can watch a 1 hour TV show in peace, and she tells me "no". She cannot mentally cope with disconnecting for under an hour! The texts and voicemail will all be there, but it doesn't matter.

What have we become?
