He was and is part of long standing Christian Domionist or Bircher style group that include some of the most wealthy and influential people in this country. And like all such groups, they never turn on their own, the basis of their support derives from a system of patronage. Nothing is forbidden in their relationship with the government or those who they see as others, they do not the sense of fair play that Democrats believe in.
