In reply to the discussion: Alec Baldwin has been fired from MSNBC [View all]procon
(15,805 posts)37. The decision to fire Baldwin is more about ratings
than any sensitivity MSNBC has toward LGBT rights.
Unlike many other celebrity hosts and media personalities, Baldwin's risqué comments did not occur in the workplace, and despite all the public hew and cry over his outburst, his ratings were the deciding factor in MSNBC ending 'Up Late With Alec Baldwin'
"In his last show, just 101,000 viewers among adults 25-54 on Friday. Thats a 41% drop from the 172,000 demo results of the one-hour shows October 11 debut."
That was the real kiss of death for his show, not his disparaging remarks.

May be an unpopular opinion but I have detested that man ever since he called his daughter a pig.

Yes I have NEVER called my kids or husband a name. It can be done when one has self control.

I couldn't care less if you don't believe it, it's true, and it isn't about perfection.

Hopefully, Alec can now get the help he needs re: anger management. I did like the show, tho.

I have always trusted that feeling I get in my gut that something is not right.
