35. I gave all of my science students a test to identify the states at the beginning of the year.

I told they had to pass this test again at the end of the year to get credit for the class. They all did.

When I first gave it, even my best students were clueless. One put 'Montana' in West Virginia. The rest weren't much better.
The only student who got them all was an immigrant from Thailand.

I told them that if they ever travelled across country to take a bus or fly. If they tried it by car, they would never be seen again.
