I read the book, so there was nothing new in the movie for me.
I feel no sympathy for her. She thought she could lie, mislead and manipulate her way into a serious position of power in this country. When her ignorance was exposed she pouted and blamed others rather than do any actual work to improve herself. She all but thrust her fingers in her ears and went through the rest of the campaign going, na-na-na-na I can't hear you.
Selfish, childish and petty people don't deserve sympathy.
