18. well, after 8 solid days of subzero temperatures (and moderate snow)... I say count your lucky stars

I love the snow and am generally please it has hung around--given the cold, but some of our wind chills...WHOAH!

We sort of earned our Siberian express designation... Which, will soon be BROKENPIPEgeddon.

My old neighbor is panicking as they live next door (and share a wall) with a vacant patio home in foreclosure and for which there has been no electricity or gas on since the former tenant moved out and the asshole former owner threw up his hands.. Given the foreclosure sale has been delayed twice, there is absolutely nothing that can be done... The owner would be the only one with legal access and he is long gone. So it is likely that there is a pipe about to burst or will have before the foreclosure sale may well impact the neighbor's basement or elsewhere. Something I don't think many have considered, but may well be damage for which neighbors are "stuck"
