(WASHINGTON) Outrage is spreading across the USA after a photo emerged showing US President Barack Obama and two other foreign leader snapping a "selfie" picture during a memorial service honoring the late Nelson Mandela in South Africa. The two other leaders appearing in the picture are David Cameron of the UK and Helle Thorning-Schmidt of Denmark.
While this was supposed to be a somber occasion, the "selfie" photo from South Africa is sure to cause a storm in Washington D.C. which could eventually lead to Obama's impeachment and removal from office. Many analysts feel the Benghazi scandal will pale in comparison to this.
You can be sure this incident will be investigated to the fullest extent by the House of Representatives. I have seen some big Washington scandals in my lifetime, but this could be the biggest one of all," wrote Washington Post blogger Jennifer Rubin. "How could Obama think it was OK to snap a selfie picture during a memorial service? This is simply more proof that Obama has no concern for the Constitution or the rule of law."
This is one of the most corrupt Administrations this country has ever seen, said a columnist for the Breitbart website. "The left constantly talks about Bush's multi-trillion dollar war in Iraq, but they just brush this off like it means absolutely nothing. This is ten times worse than leading the country to war based on false information. We don't know how many Americans will ultimately die because of this."
The White House press secretary, Jay Carney, would not comment on the photo but there's no question that this administration will soon have to answer questions about the "selfie" photo as this scandal begins to spin completely out of control.
