(54,770 posts)39. Agree completely. A few years ago, I spent some time researching the amount of junk mail, etc.,
and determined that a relatively small increase in rates -- I'm talking less than 10% -- would put the USPS in the black, even with the prefunding of pension/healthcare requirements.
There are a lot of things that can be done to make the USPS self-sustaining without changing its mission and basic operations.
