But don't have the fortitude to look for one. There are very many to choose from, each as horrifying as the next, and they tend to haunt me for some time after viewing.

So imagine please instead, a photo of a vast concrete building with small stalls each containing a single pig. The stall is inches larger than the pig itself, purposely sized so as to hold the animal immobile. It stands in place 24 hours a day, day after day, week after week. The pain and monotony drive the social animal to chew at its cage and its mouth and surrounding concrete is soaked in blood.

So that's the snapshot I'd like you to imagine. Then I'd like you to consider what kinds of effects that stress, pain and psychological torture might have on the tissue of that animal, the tissue that you are going to eat.

If you can do that and still enjoy your bacon slab you're made of much hardier stuff than I.
